How can I donate or support Clearwater Camp?

We are grateful for all the financial contributions and volunteer support we receive. You may consider a variety of ways to support camp. For example, you can:

  • make a gift today or sign up for our  Range Rangers Monthly Giving Program via our online DONATION page,
  • contact us about Creative Ways to Give (i.e. Donating Appreciated Stock or Designating Clearwater in your estate plans)

What are donations used for?

Financial donations from our supporters are used to provide high-quality programs and activities, trained staff, safe and functional facilities and grounds, and camperships (scholarships for campers whose families may not have been otherwise able to afford the Clearwater Camp experience). Undesignated donations are allocated to the most important projects determined by the strategic initiatives overseen by the Board of Directors.

Why don’t tuition and fees cover camp’s needs?

Clearwater Camp remains financially sound. However, while tuition and fees cover the annual costs of running camp, that revenue is not enough to fund our goals of maintaining scholarships, undertaking large maintenance projects for camp’s venerable buildings and grounds and forging capital improvements that promise to usher Clearwater Camp into the next generation. Donations are critical to these important efforts to maintain Clearwater in perpetuity.

Is my donation tax-deductible?

YES, as a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, Clearwater Camp can accept tax-deductible donations. Our EIN is 43-2024465. Please consult your own tax advisor for the proper and legal consideration of your gift for deduction purposes.

Can I make my gift in honor or memory of someone?

Yes, when you make a gift, you may let us know the name of the person you would like honor and how (in memory, in honor, in celebration of, etc) so that we can let the individual or their family know of your kind way of paying tribute to them.

When and why did Clearwater Camp become a nonprofit?

The nonprofit Clearwater Camp Foundation was established in 2003 as a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization in order to purchase Clearwater Camp from six shareholders and run it as a girl’s camp into perpetuity. The shareholders included Sunny Moore, her family members and the family of a former camper and counselor, Lynne Hales Jacob.

In 2008, the Clearwater Camp Foundation successfully purchased the camp and the scholarship program was launched in 2011.

In winter 2012, the foundation successfully completed a $7.5 million capital campaign, the Voyageur Campaign.

Today the foundation uses philanthropic contributions from our community to support quality programming and activities, as well as maintaining and improving camp’s buildings and grounds. The foundation also raises funding for Camperships, our scholarship fund for campers whose families may not have been otherwise able to afford the Clearwater Camp experience.
