Dear Friends of the Clearwater Trail,

We’ve done it!

The Clearwater Camp Foundation has completed its purchase of Clearwater Camp!

We raised the $2.7 million in cash and more than $1.1 million in pledges needed by our fall 2007 deadline, allowing us to secure the camp’s future.

We cannot be more grateful for the loyalty you have shown for our beloved camp to bring us to this point. Almost 500 donors have contributed to date. Thanks to you, Clearwater ended 2007 with more than $100,000 raised in November and December alone. Now, that’s the Clearwater Spirit!

We have more portages to tackle coming up on this journey. And we know that you and our growing Clearwater circle are up to the challenge. We need to raise another approximately $1.2 million to pay off our mortgage loan. This is our goal for 2008.

This is a big year for our organization. As Sunny’s recent letter informed you, 2008 marks Clearwater’s 75th Anniversary. So, save the date for our Diamond Jubilee Celebration, August 9-12. Please visit our web site at www.clearwatercamp.org in the coming months for more information on Clearwater Camp’s 75th Anniversary.

This remains a wonderful time to give to the Foundation, as the $1 million Leadership Challenge is still in force, with approximately $160,000 in matching dollars remaining for any new gift. Your gift will be doubled dollar-for-dollar.

Each of us is able to fulfill Clearwater Camp’s lessons of leadership and teamwork to make sure our beloved camp is here for generations to come. We have learned so much together along this first leg of our journey, drawing on the important values and traditions of the Clearwater experience.

Congratulations again to all who helped protect our land and ensure that for generations to come, girls and young women can enjoy the incredible legacy of Clearwater Camp: friendship, nature and timeless tradition.
