Liz Baker PictureDear Clearwater Family and Friends,

It is with great pleasure that I am writing to tell you that the Clearwater community and Board of Directors have completed a deliberative yearlong search process and have selected Liz Baker to be camp’s next Executive Director.

Liz is a former camper, counselor and served on the Clearwater Camp Foundation Board of Directors from 2008 to 2013, when she stepped down to apply for the job of executive director. She has more than 17 years of nonprofit professional and management experience, working in child and youth development throughout her long career. As such, she has extensive experience in furthering the social, emotional, academic and physical development of young people.

Among Liz’s experience is nine years as executive director of the nonprofit Youth Center Inc. in Adams. MA. There, Liz worked closely with a board of directors to guide everything from strategic planning to the daily administration of the organization that included summer camps, activities, classes and a drop-in center. She is well versed in everything that goes into running a nonprofit, including staff management, as well as fundraising through annual appeals, grant writing, special events and personal solicitations.

Liz has her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, a master’s of science degree in communication and information management from Bay Path College and a graduate certificate in nonprofit management from Bay Path College.

We are thrilled to have a “Clearwater Daughter” as qualified and experienced as Liz to take on this new role and usher Clearwater into a bright future. It’s also of interest to note that Liz is Mrs. Sara Holiday “Halokwe” Sprague’s great granddaughter. Halokwe, for those who don’t know, was the founder of Clearwater Camp in 1933 and personally chose Sunny to follow in her footsteps.

In the coming months, we will provide opportunities for our camp families, alumnae and friends to meet Liz personally. In the meantime, please join me in welcoming Liz back into the Clearwater fold in this exciting new position!

My best,

Sarah L. Boles

President, Clearwater Camp Foundation Board
