Head of Sailing

Tomahawk Lake is perfect for sailing, and this popular activity is filled to capacity. Experienced sailors must be capable of teaching a progressively challenging program. Our sailing fleet of 11 boats includes two “E” scows, five “C” scows, one V-15 and three Sunfish. Sailing instructors teach basic fundamentals for first time sailors and competitive racing for advanced sailors. Our sailing program can also include a 3-day trip on a charter sailboat through the Apostle Islands on Lake Superior.

Responsibilities

The Head of Sailing is responsible for the oversight of the daily sailing program for campers ages 8 to 16. This includes planning logistics associated with programming (weekly regattas), creating a positive environment for learning sailing and racing skills, the proper care and maintenance of all boats and equipment, and ensuring Clearwater safety standards are met.
