While I cannot claim to have been a Clearwater Daughter, I married one in 1977: Kate Conyers, part of the large Conyers clan that has been going to Clearwater Camp for three generations. From hearing her camp stories and those of her family members, I’ve long been impressed with the sense of independence, confidence and adventure that Clearwater fostered among the Conyers family women. I also participated in family camp for several years where I received a close-up, hands-on Clearwater experience. As a result of this exposure, I sent my two sons to nearby Camp Highlands. I’m proud to note that, after a visit with Sunny, she proclaimed me an honorary “Clearwater Daughter.”

I have more than 30 years of experience in the areas of strategic planning, finance and accounting, negotiations, facilities management, administration and human resources. A former CPA, I retired from 15 years at SkillPath Seminars, where I was executive vice-president and chief financial officer for the company known for providing continuing education and professional development opportunities.

I’m an active volunteer around my community of Shawnee, KS. I was the founding treasurer and former president of Rebuilding Together Shawnee, a nonprofit corporation with a mission of helping elderly, disabled and low income homeowners remain in their homes within a safe and secure environment. I’m a member of the Shawnee Rotary Club, former assistant scoutmaster of a Boy Scout troop, and, during the winter months, I volunteer as an on mountain ambassador in Breckenridge, CO.
