Thanks to the generosity of the first few donors we approached, we were able to “break ground” in May 2023. While we are off to a great start, we are expanding our efforts to meet with our community to ask for financial support to fund the entire site plan. We are also working furiously this fall before the snow flies and the ground freezes to keep moving forward on these projects explained below that we want to ready for our campers next summer.
NEW Maintenance Building
The old pole barn has been updated and upgraded for boat storage and a new maintenance building has been added to the front. Once complete, our maintenance supervisor, Jared Davis will begin relocating from the old shed that will soon be demolished to make room for our new Welcome Center.
Sports Courts
Located above our “old” archery range, we poured the surface of this large new multi-purpose game area. It will be striped for a variety of games next spring before campers arrive. They will learn and play tennis, pickleball, and basketball in this lovely clearing in the woods.
Waterfront and Back Fields
The “heart of camp” has been transformed with the removal of the tennis courts and roads. We now have large grassy “learning/social” areas where campers will gather, play, and let their creativity run free. They can play soccer and volleyball, prepare for trips, eat outdoor suppers, play capture the flag, and many other fun activities yet to be imagined.
NEW Welcome Center
(Stay tuned to help us formally name this new building using our nautical theme!)
This new building will be a beautiful new focal point as you drive into camp. After the foundation has been dug, this will be framed and insulated so that the interiors can be completed by our dedicated contractors in warmth over the winter.
