Two Regattas!

By Margaux Boles

“It’s the …. Sunday Regatta, we’ve been waiting five years!”

It was clear that we had been waiting five years because there was so much interest that we had two regattas!

The first regatta took place on Sunday, and while there was not as much wind as we would have hoped, everyone still had a blast. There was plenty of friendly competition with many old heads-of-sailing skippering out on Lake Tomahawk. All of the E scows and C scows took on Lady Tom, however, the small (but mighty!) sunfish took home the gold for the first regatta.

The second regatta on Monday morning brought more wind and even more friendly competition. While it was not a diamond day, everyone still had a blast on the C and E scows. I think I can speak for all the sailors when I say how special and wonderful it was to be out on Lady Tom listening to the boats hum and hearing “ready about? Hard to lee!”  I am already looking forward to the next time we can be reunited out on the water!

Special thank you to Mary and Eve Stanley, Co-Heads of Sailing, for putting on two awesome regattas!

This is the fourth in a series of Reunion Sparks to share memories from our 90th Reunion. Additional sparks are linked below.
