I was raised in Lake Forest, IL, but when asked, I’ll likely admit that I “grew up” during summers in Minocqua, WI. After many summers of watching the campers at Clearwater from my family’s lake house nearby, I finally had my turn on the Harbor in 1997. And I never missed a summer after that; a camper until 2003, then a leadership, counselor, and unit head.
I graduated magna cum laude from Colby College in 2009 and after fitting in one more summer at camp, began my career in advertising at an agency in Boston, MA. Today, I work at Edelman in Chicago as a Senior Producer, a job in which I rely on the skills I learned during my summers at Clearwater: resourcefulness, resilience, and the ability to listen to, connect with, and fulfill each of my team member’s needs.
In 2013, I was one of the founding members of Clearwater’s Junior Advisory Committee (now known as the AAT) and before joining the Board, served on the Strategic Planning committee in 2015. As the Board’s Marketing Chair, I work closely with our staff to develop camp’s marketing strategy and tactics. I am forever and always grateful for the opportunity to “never have to grow out of camp’.
