Greetings from the Northwoods!
It’s hard to believe that as I write this we are less than a week away from the end of first session. It’s been another incredible week of camp and we are already getting so sad at the thought of having to say goodbye to our first session campers. In the meantime, here are some highlights from the last week:
- A beautiful Sunday Service hosted by the Cape with the theme of: The Five Senses of Camp
- Our second Council Fire with lots of pennant pins to hand out, trip sparks and trip songs to hear, and a great regatta update from our Head of Sailing.
- So many fun free activities including capture the flag, Pilates on the waterfront, slip’n’slide on Harbor Hill, and book club in boats.
- Favorite Meals of the week: chicken tenders, buttered noodles, chicken Caesar pitas, and french toast sticks.
- A fabulous Christmas celebration which included cookie decorating, polar plunge, snowball fights, secret Santa gift exchange, and a special visit from Santa himself.
- Lots of trips coming and going including two extended trips for our older campers: sailing and Canadian. Can’t wait to hear all of their trip sparks at our last Council Fire of the session.
- Macbeth Muffin night complete with with lots of Shakespearean/medieval characters and muffin flavors of lemon poppyseed and banana.
- A Clearwater Camp vs. Camp Nicolet Soccer match
We are so excited that so many of you can join us for our 1st Session Family Day on Wednesday, July 9th. Here is the schedule of events:
Horse Show: 11:00 am (All extended riders will be participating or assisting)
*Lunch will be for campers and staff only.
Water Show: 3:30 pm (Participants TBD)
Tennis Tournament Finals: 4:30 pm (Participants TBD)
Family Cookout: 5:30 pm (RSVP required to plan for food)
Camp Play: 7:00 pm (Cast List: Clearwater Camp Presents _High School Musical Jr)
One final note on packages: we know how much fun care packages are and fully support families sending one per session (as outlined in our Family Handbook) however when families send an excessive amount of packages, it becomes very challenging for our staff to manage mail pick-up, package sorting, and distribution for all of the campers in camp. We also kindly ask that care packages be packages put together personally and that families refrain from sending Amazon packages unless it is an emergency. Thank you!
