Second Session: Week 3
Camp Blog Book

Greetings from the Northwoods,

It’s a beautiful day here on Lake Tomahawk and as I am listening to the singing and laughter coming across the lake from a canoeing class, I can’t believe that a week from today all of these campers will be back home their sharing camp stories with all of you.  It’s been an incredible session so far and we have so much that we are still looking forward to.  Here are some highlights from the last week:

  • Campers and counselors returning from trips with more of bug bites, greasy hair, and countless stories of teamwork, resilience and so much fun had by all.
  • Special welcomes back to camp for our long trip campers who hiked Isle Royale and kayaked the Apostle Islands
  • A fabulous muffin night with muffin flavors or blueberry poppyseed and strawberry banana with a dress-up theme of “My Counselor Muffin Night” where each camper got to dress up as their own counselor
  • An all-camp outing to one of our neighboring camps, Red Arrow where we were guests for their annual carnival complete with all sorts of carnival games and even an ice cream truck
  • An inter-camp soccer competition in which 13 of our campers got to go to another neighboring camp, Nicolet Camp and compete in a soccer game with their campers and then stay as guests for lunch
  • A beautiful Sunday Service hosted by the Harbor with the theme “Taking Care of Camp”
  • Our second Council Fire with lots of pennant pins to hand out, trip sparks and trip songs to hear, and a great regatta update from our Head of Sailing.
  • Another great week of packouts including ski show practice, play practice, mountain biking, blueberry picking, fishing with Rob, and tennis with coach Dassler
  • Tons of fun free activities including yoga, paddleboarding, birthday crafting, 9 square, and sponge dodgeball
  • Favorite meals have included: chicken Caesar pitas, biscuits and gravy, buttered noodles, and breakfast sandwiches.

We are so excited that so many of you can join us for our 1st Session Family Day on Wednesday, July 9th.
